Present: Freelance Writer and Painter – Painting, writing essays, and conducting Burmese Literary Lectures in Washington DC, New York,Boston, Florida, Fort Wayne, De Kalb, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Tokyo for Burmese community. Have published hundreds of short-stories, essays, features, editorials and analysis, and many paintings.
1997- 2005: Senior Broadcaster, Senior Editor at Radio Free Asia (Burmese Service)
1995-1996: Worked as Freelance Artist and writer.
Translated several books about Burma in English into Burmese for Burma Project ( OSI )
Sept-Nov 1994: Joined the Iowa University’s International Writing Program, sponsored by Burma Project ( OSI ) and Bard College , earned the Honorary Fellowship from University of Iowa.
Dec 1994 (One month Study Tour): studied at UCLA and Hollywood sponsored by US Statement Department’s Cultural Exchange Program.
1973- 1994: Wrote Short stories, film stories and Scripts and Directed feature films, Video productions, and earned several national film awards for best performances included the best director academy award in 1981.
1966-1973: Principal of State School of Fine Arts, Music and Dancing (Mandalay, Burma)
1964-1966: Worked as Jeweler.
1962-1964: Explored Jade Mining in Kachin State, Northern Burma.
1959-1962: Worked for Ludu Newspaper in Mandalay as Foreign Editor, illustrator and satirical cartoonist.
1951-1959: Studyied in Mandalay and Rangoon University. Also, studied paintings and Burmese traditional music. Became one of the six founders of Burmese contemporary Arts and paintings. Exhibited paintings in several National and local galleries.
1946-1951: Attended High School, and studied Music and Arts.
1943-1946: Survived the 2nd. world War.
Born in 16th. of June 1935, in Mandalay, Burma.
